Solana is going through one of those moments that tend to define the market cycle. Crypto analyst Robert revealed that SOL price has taken a severe hit, down 71% from its 2025 all-time high (ATH). At the same time, Solana’s Net Unrealized Profit/Loss (NUPL) is sitting deep at 0.67 in full capitulation territory, a level that typically reflects that holders are sitting on heavy unrealized losses.

Data from Fidelity Investments suggests that historically, similar conditions have preceded strong rebounds, with a median of over 516% the following year. Meanwhile, they’re quick to emphasize the limitations of a small sample size, weak correction, and that past performance may not repeat itself.

On the bright side, network usage is rising, with monthly active addresses up 50%, new addresses growing over 35%, and stablecoin flows are holding steady. However, this shift shows that real utility is building even as the price is down, but on-chain activity tells a more resilient story.

The last week of March and the start of April saw mixed sentiment in the ETF space. Looking at the performance of the Spot Bitcoin [BTC] ETF, it saw inflows worth $69.4 million on the 30th of March, in which Ark Invest’s ARKB contributed $33 million.

Then, on the 31st of March, BTC ETFs saw inflows worth $117.5 million, in which BlackRock’s IBIT led the way, with $98.4 million.

However, things flipped on the 1st of April, wherein BTC ETFs recorded outflows worth $173.7 million, in which BlackRock’s IBIT saw maximum outflows worth $86.5 million.

The trend turned positive on the 2nd of April yet again, as the BTC ETF saw inflows worth $9 million, wherein Fidelity’s FBTC saw $7.3 million in inflows.

This coincided with Bitcoin seeing a drop to $65,000 on the 30th of March, but at press time, it was changing hands at $66,937.05.

How did the Spot Ethereum ETF perform?

Moving forward, Spot Ethereum ETFs saw inflows worth $5 million on the 30th of March, in which Fidelity’s FETH saw inflows worth $10.6 million. The next day, the ETH ETF saw inflows worth $31.2 million, wherein BlackRock’s ETHA was worth $24.7 million.

However, on the first day of Q2, inflows turned to outflows. As of the 1st of April, the ETH ETF recorded outflows worth $7.1 million, in which BlackRock’s ETHA witnessed outflows worth $32.3 million.

On the 2nd of April, the ETH ETF saw $71.2 million in outflows, in which BlackRock’s ETHA faced maximum outflows worth $46.7 million. 

This comes as ETH’s price was trading at $1,958 on the 30th of March, but at press time it stood at $2,043.42.

Solana and XRP ETF analysis

Now, when it comes to the Solana ETF, it too saw a rollercoaster ride. On the 30th of March, it recorded outflows worth $6.2 million, with Bitwise’s BSOL seeing the highest outflows worth $6.2 million.

Meanwhile, on the 31st of March and the 1st of April, the SOL ETF saw zero flows. Lastly, on the 2nd of April, SOL ETFs saw inflows worth $0.9 million, wherein Fidelity’s FBTC was the only one to see inflows worth $0.9 million. 

Zooming out, SOL price was trading at $80.01 on the 30th of March, whereas at press time it was $79.73. 

Lastly, XRP ETFs saw outflows worth $2.31 million on the 30th of March. Then on the 31st of March, it saw zero inflows.

Moving forward to the 1st of April, XRP ETFs saw outflows worth $1.32 million, and on the 2nd of April, they saw inflows of $64.6K. Meanwhile, XRP’s price was trading at $1.30, and at press time, it was at the same level, facing high volatility in the past week.

Earlier today, Robinhood Crypto announced on X that it is expanding its offerings in Europe to now allow users in the European Union (EU) to transfer Solana (SOL-USD). In addition, users can earn a 1% bonus on deposits until November 30, 2024. This new feature adds to Robinhood’s support for over 20 cryptocurrencies, such as Bitcoin (BTC-USD) and Ethereum (ETH-USD), which were introduced to EU customers just a few weeks ago. As a result, shares of Robinhood (HOOD) gained in today’s trading.

Along with crypto transfers, Robinhood Crypto now allows staking for Solana directly in the app with an annual yield of 5.23%. Staking is a process where users can lock up their cryptocurrency to help maintain the blockchain network and, in return, earn rewards. Robinhood has seen good results with its Crypto platform in Europe. In fact, its user base has grown, with the most activity coming from Poland, Italy, and Lithuania.

However, this growth has come with regulatory challenges. In May, the SEC issued a Wells Notice to Robinhood Crypto, signaling that the regulator might take enforcement action against the company. A Wells Notice is essentially a formal warning from the SEC that it believes a company may have violated securities laws, giving the company a chance to respond before any potential charges are filed.

Robinhood Launches Margin Investing for Its UK Customers

In a separate development, Robinhood Markets also launched margin investing for its UK customers, which will allow them to borrow money to buy more stocks using their existing investments as collateral. Jordan Sinclair, president of Robinhood UK, said the new feature provides customers with greater flexibility to enhance their investment strategies. Robinhood is charging interest rates from 5.2% to 6.25% for this service, which the company says are some of the most competitive in the industry.

Is HOOD a Good Stock to Buy?

Turning to Wall Street, analysts have a Moderate Buy consensus rating on HOOD stock based on nine Buys, seven Holds, and one Sell assigned in the past three months, as indicated by the graphic below. After a 194% rally in its share price over the past year, the average HOOD price target of $24.62 per share implies 8.71% downside risk.

With a 20% rise in profitability, Shiba Inu is emerging as a possible recovery, which may portend a bullish run for the asset. The data indicates that 55% of SHIB holders are now profitable, which is an increase from earlier levels. This increase in profitability may draw in more investors who believe SHIB has fresh growth potential.

The fact that 73% of SHIB is held by large holders further suggests that whales are still holding a sizable amount of the asset. The bullish case for Shiba Inu’s could be strengthened if the upward trend persists even though whale activity has been a little bearish lately. The 20% increase in profitability is significant because it signals a change in market sentiment that tends to be more positive for SHIB.

The potential for a long-term recovery is high as 79% of holders have owned SHIB for more than a year. Stability is offered by this devoted holder base, and if the upward trend continues, it might inspire these holders to buy more, raising the price of SHIB. From a technical perspective, SHIB is trading above the 50-, 100- and 200-day EMAs, indicating a strengthening trend.

As Ethereum fails to overcome significant resistance levels, this pattern becomes even more concerning and raises questions about the asset’s short-term viability. Let us examine both bullish and bearish scenarios when examining possible price targets for Ethereum. If Ethereum is able to break above the 100 EMA, which is currently at $2,650, this price target would be the first meaningful milestone.

A breakout of this kind might indicate that ETH is gaining momentum again, paving the way for a test of the next psychological level at $2,900. Given that it corresponds with the subsequent resistance level from early August, this price range is significant. If Ethereum gains sufficient traction and breaks above $2,900, $3,100 is the next possible target.

This level is significant because it falls on the long-term 200 EMA, which is displayed on the chart as the black line.

On the downside, Ethereum’s price may drop back to about $2,400 if it is unable to maintain above its present support levels. This target is bearish because it is the lower bound of the rising channel that Ethereum has been trading in over the last several months, which makes it significant. If the price drops below this mark, it might be an indication of more weakness and possibly a deeper correction.

Solana is in trouble

Reaching the $160 price level, a significant resistance zone that may dictate the asset’s next big move, Solana is about to face a critical test. Technical indicators point to a possible reversal if buyers don’t step up their efforts as SOL has historically had trouble keeping momentum going past this point.

The profile gives a mixed picture when examining the exponential moving averages. A cautious outlook in the market is indicated by the 50 EMA’s placement below the 100 EMA. Not only is Solana not fully in a bearish phase, but it is also not clearly in an uptrend as evidenced by the fact that the 50 EMA is still above the 200 EMA. With the market waiting for a stronger push in either direction, this setup suggests indecision. Keeping an eye on the $160 resistance level is crucial.

A potential price reversal may occur soon if SOL is unable to break and maintain above this level. Another worrying indication of declining buying interest is the volume that has been declining over the last few days. In the event of a rejection at this point, SOL might retreat back to support levels at $147 or even lower, depending on the state of the overall market.

Conversely, a strong break above $160 might pave the way for additional gains, particularly if buying volume rises. SOL may retest stronger resistance zones in this scenario, aiming for the $180-$200 region.

This week has seen Solana [SOL] register a significant uptrend in price and a surge in social dominance. On the contrary, Arbitrum [ARB] and other L2 assets saw major declines on the social volume and price action front. 

Needless to say, this has created a contrasting narrative between these blockchain ecosystems.

Solana and Arbitrum see divergent social volumes

According to Santiment, the social volume of Solana and Arbitrum followed divergent paths over the last few days. For instance, Solana has seen a notable hike in social volume, rising by over 3% on two separate occasions this week.

On 13 October, the social volume surged to 3.8%. Another spike of 3.6% followed on 17 October.

This indicated that SOL dominated over 3% of all crypto-related discussions during the week.

Worth pointing out though that at press time, Solana’s social volume had fallen slightly to around 2.7%.

On the other hand, ARB’s social volume stayed relatively low. While it did see some spikes, the highest was 1.4% on the same day when SOL peaked at 3.8%.

At the time of writing, Arbitrum’s social dominance had dropped further to approximately 0.09%.

Comparing Solana and Arbitrum’s price trends

 The daily price chart showed that Solana has been on an uptrend over the past few weeks. For instance, this week, SOL’s price surged to a peak of $163.14 – Representing gains of 5.86% from its most-recent low.

At press time, the price sat above the 50-day Moving Average (MA) of $142.25 and the 200-day MA of $150.71. This highlighted the altcoin’s short-term and long-term bullish trends. 

Also, SOL’s break above these key moving averages and a neutral Relative Strength Index (RSI) suggested that further upward momentum was possible.

On the flip side, Arbitrum has seen far less upward momentum, only consolidating within a narrow range over the past few weeks. It remained below its 50-day MA of $0.5497 and 200-day MA of $0.8111. This alluded to a bearish trend in the medium term.

The 200-day MA was also significantly higher than the press time price, while the 50-day MA was only slightly above it.

SOL and ARB’s future outlook

Solana has been in a stronger position than Arbitrum this week. The token’s break above key moving averages and its RSI nearing overbought territory indicated that buyers have been in control and Solana may be more likely to continue its uptrend.

In contrast, Arbitrum remained in consolidation mode. Although it has started showing signs of recovery, it has not displayed the bullish momentum portrayed by Solana.

ARB will need to break above its 50-day MA to attract more buyers and signal stronger movement.

That being said, with ARB attracting less attention, as indicated by its lower social dominance, it could offer greater returns if it begins to pump.
