While it runs on the Sui network, a competitor to Solana, it shares the same goal of enhancing gaming through web3.

When comparing PSG-1 and Suiplay0x1, it’s clear that both aim to lead the charge in on-chain gaming. As of now, they definitely differ in terms of price, specs, and features.

• PSG-1 is priced at $199 for pre-order, exclusive to Player 1 NFT holders, with public pre-orders set to happen soon. This makes it a more affordable entry into blockchain gaming.

Roughly a year and a half after it debuted the Saga, Solana Mobile has unveiled details about its second Solana phone, the Seeker. 

Slated for a 2025 release, the phone boasts a native wallet built in tandem with SolFlare that integrates with Solana Mobile’s secure seed vault and (it looks like) will be secured by a thumbprint. Other new features are typical phone things — a better display, camera, and battery life as well as an updated “dApp Store.” 

But what Solana natives are bound to be even more excited about is the prospect of token airdrops.

If you’ll remember, airdrop hype was a key component in Solana’s first phone go-round. Critics didn’t love the Saga, and Solana Mobile cut its price by 40% amid lackluster sales four months after launch. 

But late last year, Solana Mobile suddenly sold out of the phones, and the Saga started reselling for thousands of dollars. This was caused by the success of the BONK memecoin, which was airdropped to the phones in amounts that became worth hundreds of dollars during Solana’s bull run.

Solana Mobile seems to be leaning into airdrop hype in its early marketing campaign for the Seeker.

Every Solana Seeker comes with a Genesis Token NFT that can serve as a sort of verification for Solana OGs, Solana Mobile general manager Emmett Hollyer told me. This can help airdrop token liquidity go directly to the hands of authentic users, Hollyer added.

“The excitement we’ve seen already with the Chapter 2 Preorder Token suggests to us it will be a powerful force,” Hollyer concluded when asked whether airdrops will help drive the go-to-market for the Seeker. A zk-compression partnership announced with Helius will make it easier and cheaper to auto-allocate airdrops to Seeker users, and an exclusive app with the memecoin platform Moonshot will let memecoins be sent to other Seeker users. 

The Seeker had already been pre-ordered over 140,000 times by the time the phone came out of stealth, Solana Mobile says. At $450 a pop, that’s over $63 million in revenue for Solana Mobile.

And despite a dearth of specifics, some Solana fans feel the phone’s price tag is well worth it. 

“Just preordered another @solanamobile Seeker. If you’ve been here long enough, you know this phone will pay for itself,” one user wrote on X, adding in a reply that they had purchased three Seeker phones in total.

Months ago, I briefly messaged with an airdrop farmer who claimed to have purchased 40 of the new Solana phones — before basically anything was known about the Seeker.

Solana Mobile hopes that there will be other use cases for the phone, of course: Hollyer mentioned DePIN, DeFi, NFTs, gaming, and AI as app categories coming to the Seeker. I wouldn’t count on those being too earth-shattering because, as many in crypto have lamented, apps that don’t heavily revolve around speculation on token prices are currently few and far between. 

On the other hand, it’s notoriously hard to break into the mobile phone space, which is currently dominated by a handful of rich incumbents. By leveraging airdrops to sell phones, Solana Mobile may gin up enough revenue to build future phones that will be ready for, say, three to five years from now when Web3 apps are ready for prime time. 

But for now, I’d be curious to know how many users will actually be making phone calls from their airdrop machines.

Riding the wave of market optimism sparked by Bitcoin’s recent surge past $68,000, Dogecoin is beginning to show signs of recovery. A potential golden cross, one of the most important technical indicators, is approaching, and Dogecoin has been attempting to break through significant resistance levels as Bitcoin has taken the lead in this market rally.

A short-term moving average crossing above a long-term moving average causes this phenomenon, which usually indicates a turn in the direction of bullish momentum. Dogecoin is currently trading close to the 100 EMA, a significant level that, should it cross, may indicate that the recent death cross-related bearish sentiment is ending.

A short-term moving average crossing below a long-term moving average, which previously happened, is known as a death cross and suggests that a significant downtrend may be on the horizon. But this story could be turned around by the market’s current upbeat attitude.

Dogecoin is currently testing the resistance of the 100 EMA after trading above the 200 EMA, according to a technical chart analysis. If this level is broken, it may lead to a golden cross in which the 50 EMA crosses above the 200 EMA, confirming the bullish trend and possibly sparking a long-term price increase.

With 77% of DOGE holders currently profiting at the current price points, on-chain data lends credence to this upbeat assessment. The substantial concentration of major holders shows that important market players are still interested in and supportive of the situation. Bullish indicators from the network’s on-chain metrics also point to growing network activity, which frequently occurs before price increases.

Bitcoin moves to $70,000

Bitcoin is currently consolidating around $68,000 and is poised for a larger price rebound. The significance of this level lies in the possibility that a push toward $70,000 and a longer-term price reversal could follow if it is broken.

It is impossible to overstate the significance of this $68,000 cutoff. It acts as a significant resistance level, and breaking through it might trigger a new round of buying pressure and send Bitcoin soaring. A possible breakout that may herald the beginning of a bullish trend is what traders and investors are keeping a careful eye on at this level.

But you also need to take into account the technical indicators that are active. A possible crossover is suggested by the convergence of the 50-day and 100-day exponential moving averages (EMAs).

A bearish signal also known as a death cross may be observed if the 50 EMA crosses below the 100 EMA. This could potentially halt the upward momentum and result in increased selling pressure. The market is still cautiously optimistic despite the imminent danger of a death cross.

The psychological $70,000 mark would be the next target for Bitcoin if it were to successfully break past the $68,000 resistance. By attracting more institutional investors and retail traders, reaching this milestone could accelerate the price rally. It could be possible for Bitcoin to reach and even surpass its all-time highs if there is a persistent increase above $70,000.

Solana slowly retracing

Solana is consolidating at approximately $185, a pivotal point that may result in a substantial breakthrough. Breaking above this level, which has shown to be a potent resistance point, may pave the way for the continuation of the longer-term upward trend.

This stage of consolidation suggests that traders are keeping a close eye on the next move. Solana’s more ambitious $200 target might become attainable with a successful breakout above $185. Psychologically speaking, this level might draw in more customers and raise the price even further. It is noteworthy though that there isn’t a lot of trading volume at the moment. Sometimes, this drop in volume suggests a possible reversal.

Solana’s price may drop before making another attempt at a breakout if the buying pressure does not pick up. Although traders should monitor the volume as it can offer additional insights into the future course, the market sentiment is still cautiously optimistic.

• Solana’s price increased by over 5% in the last 24 hours. 
• Several metrics and indicators hinted at a price correction. 

Like most other cryptos, Solana [SOL] bulls have also managed to maintain their control over the market for quite a few days now.

Though this hinted at a continued price uptick, SOL might soon face a roadblock ahead, even if the bulls dominate. Let’s find out what’s happening. 

Solana remains bullish, but…

CoinMarketCap’s data revealed that SOL’s price increased by over 12% last week. In the last 24 hours alone, the token’s value surged by more than 5%.

At the time of writing, SOL was trading at $161.26 with a market capitalization of over $74.8 billion, making it the 5th largest crypto.

In fact, AMBCrypto reported earlier that Captain Faibik, a popular crypto analyst, posted a tweet revealing that he expects SOL to touch $1,000 in this bull cycle.

As per our analysis of Santiment’s data, SOL’s trading volume increased along with its price last week. This can be interpreted as a bullish signal, as rising volume acts as a foundation for an ongoing price hike.

However, its Weighted Sentiment dropped, meaning that bearish sentiment around the token was increasing in the market. 

There was more trouble for SOL ahead. Ali, a popular crypto analyst, posted a tweet highlighting an interesting development. Notably, $2.98 billion in short positions will be liquidated if SOL surges to $176.

Generally, when liquidation rises during a bull rally, it results in a short- to midterm price correction. Solana must successfully go above that mark in order to sustain its bull rally and possibly reach $1k in the long-term.

SOL’s road ahead 

AMBCrypto then planned to take a look at other datasets to better understand what to expect from the token. We found that SOL’s Funding Rate increased sharply in the last few days.

Generally, prices tend to move the other way than the Funding Rate. This indicated that SOL might witness a price correction before it reaches $176, where over $2 billion will be liquidated.

Our look at Coinglass’ data revealed that Solana’s Long/Short Ratio dropped. This suggests that bearish sentiment is rising as more short positions get opened in the market. 

Apart from that, SOL’s fear and greed index at press time showed that the market was in an “extreme greed” phase. Usually, when the metric hits this level, it pointed at a possible price correction soon.

We then analyzed SOL’s daily chart to see what indicators had to say regarding SOL reaching $176. 

SOL’s price had already retouched the upper limit of the Bollinger Bands. The Chaikin Money Flow (CMF) also registered a downtick, hinting at a price decline. Nonetheless, the MACD continued to support the bulls. 

Starting July 10, Solana developers can earn up to $1 million for identifying flaws in the new Firedancer validator client under a 42-day bug bounty program by Jump Crypto.

Jump Crypto Launches $1 Million Bug Bounty for Solana’s Firedancer Validator Client

Firedancer is a highly anticipated new validator client for the Solana blockchain, and its creator is urging developers to investigate any critical flaws thoroughly.

Starting on July 10, Solana developers will be able to earn up to $1 million by identifying flaws in the forthcoming “Firedancer” independent validator client.

According to Cointelegraph, Jump Crypto is providing the first-ever bug bounty program for Firedancer, powered by the Immunefi bug bounty platform. The program will operate for 42 days, from July 10 to August 21.

The utmost payout for a single bounty is $1 million, and participants can access a $1 million rewards pool, which is paid in USD Coin.

Firedancer is a novel validator client that is anticipated to enhance the efficacy of Solana’s network. As an independent client validator, Firedancer could be instrumental in processing transactions and assembling construction blocks within Solana’s $60 billion network.

Firedancer has been promoted as a preferable alternative to “QUIC,” a data transfer protocol developed by Google that has a history of failing to process transactions during increased network activity on Solana.

Cantelope Peel, a pseudonymous engineer at Jump Crypto, a blockchain infrastructure firm, has overseen the development of Firedancer v. 0.1. Peel is the same individual who announced the bounty program on July 3.

Peel stated that the team is actively testing and developing its initial iterations of the Solana consensus and fork choice algorithms.

“We are also working on live voting and various other little bits around that,” Peel added.

The C and C++ software languages are used to implement Firedancer and accommodate high trading volumes.

Anatoly Yakovenko, the CEO and co-founder of Solana Labs, has previously stated that Firedancer has the potential to enhance the pace of the Solana network.

Participants Must Complete KYC for Solana’s Firedancer Bug Bounty Program

Individuals wanting to participate in the bounty must submit their Know Your Client information during registration.

Immunefi stated that any bugs discovered in Firedancer v0.1 will be investigated and addressed within 24 hours on weekdays.

Immunefi has announced that it will publish an event-specific leaderboard and issue reports shortly after the bounty program concludes.

Nov. 2023 marked the initial launch of Firedancer on a Solana testnet. Peel and Jump Crypto have been developing the Solana validator client, according to Firedancer’s GitHub account, since January 30, 2023.

Peel proposed implementing a comparable version of Firedancer on Ethereum in March; however, significant advancements have yet to occur.
